TEFL

To receive a work visa for China, participants must undergo TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) training or possess a valid TEFL certificate. This certification can cost over $500 USD. However, for AYC participants without a TEFL certificate, our program will cover your certification cost, and you will be awarded an official TEFL certificate upon completion of orientation. The TEFL certificate is provided by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) 中国国家外专局.

The TEFL teachers from the State Administration of Foreign Experts Afffairs are highly qualified with not only teaching but also cultural experience.

CHINESE LANGUAGE

in-person Mandarin Chinese tuition and learning support (two sessions per week).

These onsite courses will be taught by a fellow school staff to provide a more efficient and convenient way of language learning.

In addition to our onsite courses, Ambassador Year in China is partnering with Mandarin House to provide

one-to-one online courses (1 session per week).

You can check out more about Mandarin House on their website here.

Orientation

When you arrive in China, there will be an orientation organized by Ambright schools before you depart for your host school. The orientation includes a chance to create community with your fellow AYC participants. At the end, everyone will leave for their respective cities, but hopefully, you will have spent a fair amount of your time networking and making new friends, so when you want to travel around China, you'll have a place to stay!
